Last week  Lori Watson and I made our way down to LEGOLAND for a site inspection of this new Florida attraction (Lori develops and markets our tours to all of the Florida attractions).  Located between Tampa and Orlando in the town of Winter Haven, I was pleasantly surprised at what I found here: kids having lots of fun and learning at the same time!

Designed for younger children (in my opinion students from kindergarten through fourth grade), this park is so much more than sculptures created with Lego building materials – although the sculptures are absolutely incredible.  What this park creates is a warm and friendly environment for kids to engage in all kinds of activities.  There are rides designed for young travelers, an exciting 4-D theatre, great entertainment, water ski shows, impressive gardens and a special educational center.  During our visit I saw kids totally immersed in the LEGOLAND experience.  What I did not witness was bored, complaining kids (which I do see from time to time at attractions). Our Team Made It Happen

The Educational Tours team continues to raise the bar for excellence in student travel and 2012 has been another incredible year. When I think of our team it really includes the great people here at our office and especially the many teachers who sponsor trips for their students.

Being a teacher is an incredibly challenging job made even more so with the last few years of economic chaos and endless budget cuts. It’s hard enough to run a classroom when times are good. But since the great recession, teachers across most of the nation have had to take on more and do it with less resources. Our hats go off to all our teachers who have made the extra effort to give their students the chance to take a class trip!

The team thanks must also extend to the parents who make it all possible by supporting their children and teacher’s desire to expand the school experience beyond the classroom.

At Educational Tours, we continue to do our best to make class trips as affordable as possible and memorable. We are already hard at work preparing for the 2013 season. Part of that process is the launch of an exciting new website and blog. These communication tools have been designed to increase the online information and services available from Educational Tours.

On behalf of everyone at Educational Tours, we thank you all for making us a part of your class trip team.

Good luck with the new school year and we’ll see you on the road.
