Dear Parents & Teachers

We want to first thank you for trusting Educational Tours for the planning and implementation of your school’s field trip in 2020. We believe strongly that learning takes place far beyond the walls of a classroom and that students can benefit greatly by exploring our nation’s most educationally enriching and historic sites. It is that simple belief which has allowed us to successfully plan field trips for 35+ years.

Regarding Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), we know that this is a difficult time, and we hope everyone around the world is listening to the guidance of public health authorities and taking all the necessary precautions to keep themselves and their communities safe. Our primary concern at Educational Tours is the safety and well-being of our trip participants. 

As it relates to your specific field trip in the coming weeks/months, we realize that many of these trips may indeed be cancelled or rescheduled. If possible, we do hope that you will consider rescheduling for a later date in the summer.  For those trips that are cancelled without the possibility of rescheduling, we want to assure you that we will fight tooth and nail, and do everything within our power to obtain a full refund for the trip. That is our number one goal for all trip cancellations.

With that in mind, we also ask that you consider how other people and other businesses in hospitality (hotels, transportation companies, restaurants, attractions, tour guides, etc.) are being affected by the coronavirus, and the resulting economic fallout that will ensue. The impact on the travel industry and the whole U.S. economy is going to be very significant, and it will take some time before all the dust finally settles. 

We very much appreciate your patience and understanding during this very difficult time.  Please know, above all else, that we have your best interests in mind and will work vigorously to address your needs.

  1. I would like to know when will you announce the Washington DC Trip for Lecanto Primary school will be rescheduled? Surely we can not expose our staff and children and the concern of time and money invested in this trip for the parents like myself and children

    • “Thank you for sharing your concerns. We continue to monitor the situation and are working closely with Citrus County Sheriff’s Office to determine the best course of action. As of now, we still have some time to make a decision on whether or not the trip will take place as it is two and a half months away. Rest assured, if it is deemed unsafe to travel in late May/early June by the CDC, state authorities, or even the Sheriff’s Office, the trip will not happen and we will do everything we can to provide full refunds to all participants.”

  2. Hello! Is there any update for the scheduled trip for Imagine School at North Port to Washington DC that is next month?

    • Please contact our office during normal business hours at (800) 343-9003 for more information on status of tour refunds. Our team is working hard with all schools and the many vendors involved with tours to secure refunds as efficiently as possible. Please note we are receiving high call volume. Thanks

  3. Regarding the Governor’s recent orders, do you know is the Citrus County FL Safety Patrol trip to Washington DC has been cancelled? It was scheduled for May 30th through June 4th.

    • Hello, and thank you for checking in on this trip. A final decision will be made on the trip in the very near future (likely on or before May 1st). Safety for everyone involved is the number one priority for the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office and Educational Tours. In the (almost certain) event that the DC trip is cancelled we will immediately start the refund process. Everyone will be refunded 100%. If and when the trip is cancelled, we will give out more information to the sponsors on specifically how the refund process will go. We ask that you please exercise patience during this time, and know that we are working diligently on your behalf. In the meantime, feel free to contact us with any further questions.
